Hitler the Believer
By Jon Nelson

One of the great lies perpetrated against atheists is that Adolf Hitler was an atheist.  In fact, he was born a Catholic, and was never excommunicated from the church.  Here are a few quotes from "Mein Kampf" and other sources that reveal his true feelings about religion:

1) "Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air.  Consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith...We need believing people."

2) "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator:  By defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."

3) "Christ was the greatest early fighter in the battle against the world enemy--the Jews.  The work that Christ started but did not finish, I, Adolf Hitler, will conclude."

4) "Two worlds face one another--the men of God and men of Satan."

5) "For the political leader the religious doctrines and institutions of his people must always remain inviolable."

6) "What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence and reproduction of our race and our people, the sustenance of our children and the purity of our blood, the freedom and independence of the fatherland, so that our people may mature for the fulfillment of the mission allotted it by the creator of the universe."

7) "For Gods will gave men their form, their essence and their abilities.  Anyone who destroys His work is declaring war on the Lords creation, the divine will."
