Colombia, the US, and the global fight for atheist representation

  • Heretic House 724 East Edgeware Road Los Angeles United States (map)

Atheists United is thrilled to host writer and activist Anya Overmann for this month's AU Live event!

What does it mean for atheists in politics running for office in countries with a majority religious population? In this talk, we explore what atheist candidates face in Colombia versus the US. The similarities may surprise you!

Anya Overmann is President of Young Humanists International and has held multiple roles in the American Ethical Union, specifically in the youth section. She was raised in the Ethical Culture movement and attended the Ethical Society of St. Louis since she was a young child. Anya runs a business as a writer. She currently lives as a digital nomad, living and working wherever she wanders. Her passion lies in advocating vigorously for humanist and progressive values both within and beyond the United States.

Attendees will also enjoy a live performance by Atheists United's very own choir, Voices of Reason!
