2025 Board of Director Election
Make a difference.
Vote for our Board of Directors!
Atheists United’s volunteer Board of Directors are elected annually by our membership.
Candidate statements:
PRESIDENT
Christine Jones
Hello! I’m seeking re-election as the current President of Atheists United. This organization has been a meaningful part of my community life since 2012. I joined the Board in 2018 and have proudly served as President since 2020.
One of the greatest lessons I learned during my first term was the importance of adaptability—especially as my term began at the onset of the pandemic. In response to that unprecedented challenge, Atheists United embraced innovation and launched new, sustainable programs tailored to the times. Many of these initiatives have not only endured but grown into major events with national visibility.
That ability to combine flexibility with creativity allowed Atheists United to thrive during a time of crisis—and it continues to serve us well. Today, the organization stands as both a vibrant network of atheist communities and a strong, visible advocate for secular voices. It has been a privilege to be part of this transformation, made possible by a deeply committed Board, a core group of dedicated volunteers, and a talented professional staff.
Looking ahead, Atheists United must once again call upon its adaptability—this time to meet the mounting political challenges we face. In a moment marked by unpredictability and growing instability, the organization must remain vigilant and proactive in defending both our community and our core values against existential threats.
Thank you for considering my candidacy for re-election as Board President. I’m honored to support Atheists United as we continue to adapt, lead, and grow with purpose.

Marsha Swallow
It's been an honor to serve on the Atheists United board for the past 3 years. I'm asking for your support for my reelection. What I've enjoyed most is bringing our community together. I truly believe that the bonds we form at our parties and community gatherings are the heart of our organization. I'm passionate about creating spaces where we can all connect, share, and celebrate, and I'm excited to continue that work. We can make a much bigger difference together than alone, and I want to continue to help make that happen. Please vote for me. Thanks!

’m Francis, a 30 year old mother of one, Los Angeles based ex-catholic. Currently serving in the board since earlier this year.
Im running for my seat to serve the community because I believe in action over prayer, in our rights as secular people, and to push back against theocracy. If elected I look forward to continuing my work on the advocacy and governance committees and doing my best to serve my people.

I'm Frish - Still putting the I in Fresh! Retired.
Living a pain free life, archaeologist (BA) and technologist (MBA Marketing).
I specified, developed, and/or launched $6Bn of software and hardware before 1990, when $1Bn was still a lot! I had to consider finance, manufacturing, engineering, marketing, sales, service, administration, CUSTOMERS, and other constituencies.
I learned to ensure group dynamics led to productivity. I've got time and skills. I co-founded a dot.com, we shipped software that could have saved the world. The product was $495. If I had priced it at $100,000 and $10,000 a seat, I’d still be working. Between sales and marketing, I have called on EVERY type of organization, at every level. I’ve been trained to answer press questions 3 different times and have been a spokesperson (for IBM, HP, SunMicro, and my own firm) dozens of times. Science shows no gods can exist. Anthropology shows gods are unnecessary. We are genetically susceptible to taking myths on faith, that’s why faith drives social evolution and cannot go away. Since faith is indirectly based in our DNA, no more skeptics can exist tomorrow than today! More may ‘come out’, but only 10% of humanity is faith free, otherwise cultural evolution would fail.
You’ve never heard that before, how ought it affect our outreach, and programs? This google doc explains everything, as our age old cultural evolution process is threatened by AI! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hzwEwTjjh4YjFUEYUVljgTJ5RAqqn2Kb-KmOrgb9shk/edit?usp=sharing
I am “Fearless Leader, LA Brights, emeritus”. We tried to perform obviously moral acts and get publicity for the faith-free acting morally. Our best effort was installing a veggie garden in an elementary school. I am the former World Wide Atheist Marketing Manager, but that's another story!
