California Coalition for Reproductive Freedom
Atheists United participates in the California Coalition for Reproductive Freedom.
Nearly 40 years ago, a handful of sexual and reproductive health care, rights and justice organizations came together to maximize the effectiveness of policy and advocacy in women's health and reproductive health rights in the state. Today, the coalition supports and facilitates member-driven initiatives that advances reproductive freedom for all - including Black, Indigenous, and people of color, individuals who earn low incomes, youth, LGBTQ+ communities, residents of rural areas, people with disabilities - as well as those who travel to our state to access essential sexual and reproductive health and gender-affirming services and resources.
As a diverse coalition of independent organizations, CCRF does not take formal policy positions or lobby specific bills. CCRF provides the space – literally and figuratively – for organizations to:
Develop collective policy, advocacy, and communications strategies on shared priorities
Engage in constructive debate and private discussions about complex policies and issues
Coordinate advocacy and strategic communications efforts
Share information and exchange ideas
Build relationships and mutual understanding that allows for meaningful, effective collaboration
Engage in community education and outreach activities
Member organizations represent diverse constituencies, strategies, and approaches, working across every sphere of California public policy: legislative, budgetary, regulatory, administrative, judicial, and electoral.
