10,000 illegal religious signs tracked, 6,000 removed.

Ahoy! Our Atheist Street Pirates are making big strides taking down illegal religious propaganda.

Numbers last quarter were outstanding! The number of signs we tracked increased by 19%, following an incredible 23% increase the quarter before. We added 1,707 signs to our tracker in Q4, for a total of 10,798 signs tracked and 5,692 removed since the program began in 2022. Huzzah!

Street Pirates are plundering an average of 9 signs each day. Major campaign signs reading "Jesus Saves" and "Jesus Is Coming, Repent" make up about 85% of these, with 711 such placards and barnacles removed in Q4. We now have 3,789 plunders of these Major Campaign signs.

Pirates also plundered 96 other signs in non-California states, thanks to a growing numbers of Pirates active in the major markets around Atlanta and the Carolinas.

We're seeing very few new signs on freeway overpasses in Southern CA this last few months, a significant change from previous quarters and a good sign of the positive impact the Los Angeles area crew is having.

Pirates in the region along the western Arkansas border added an incredible 550 signs to our “Treasure in Waiting” list of signs to track, thanks to their efforts tracking an evangelizer group that started putting up signs of questionable legality. A fine-toothed comb search through Google Street View history in the areas of known banners uncovered about 500 new pins for our map.

As always, a big "Thanks" and "Huzzah!" to all volunteers who continue to hoist the sails and batten down the hatches to secure our secular rights and keep our shared public spaces free of religious rubbish!

Huzzah for the Atheist Street Pirates!
