Summer impact report
Thanks to the support of donors, members, and volunteers, we continue to be the most innovative and active secular group in the country.
This summer, we…

Held a major civic engagement summit for 90 people, with 16 panelists including three LA area mayors
Fiscally sponsored recovery group Secular Overeaters
Held our weekly Secular Youth Group
Took 26 atheists stargazing at Mt. Wilson Observatory
Held two massive food distributions (45 volunteers served 12,000+ pounds of food to 350 households)
Tabled at two Pride celebrations
Opened our office as a day shelter for those impacted by the Boyle Heights fire
Raised $800 at our second community yard sale
Recruited our first high school Board Member
Built a much-needed new storage unit (courtesy two generous donors) for our growing amount of volunteer supplies
Marched in the Santa Clarita 4th of July parade
Held a Summer Beach Party to celebrate our community
Removed over 500 illegally-placed religious signs from overpasses and telephone poles through our Street Pirates program
Coming up, we’re planning…
Attending the Humanist World Congress in Ottowa next month
Returning to the State Capitol in August to hold more meetings with lawmakers about ending child marriage
An Atheist Adventure to Death Valley Nov 11th-17th
Our annual Halloween gathering at Heretic House mansion
Marching in the Covina Christmas parade in December
Most all these are new projects for us. We organize all this and our regular calendar with a paid staff of just two.
That said, we need your help reaching our goals to stay on track for 2027. A generous donor is matching all donations 1:1 until the end of summer (up to $5,000). If we can get the whole match, it will cover our travel budget for next year so we can keep meeting with lawmakers.
Every donation will be doubled unti the end of summer.
We couldn’t do all this without you. Thank you for your support.
