Atheists United Santa Clarita chapter marches in 4th of July parade

Atheists United chapter Santa Clarita Atheists & Freethinkers marched in Santa Clarita's Fourth of July parade!

A Bangladeshi asylum seeker in our L.A. community held the group’s sign during the whole parade, leading us as we walked. Our group handed out over three coolers of water bottles, a giant stash of candy, and 100+ flyers promoting our local community.

Marchers faced a few minor heckles and an attempt to proselytize them ahead of the parade, but otherwise found their messages of “Religious Freedom for Everyone” and “Only You Can Separate Church and State” resonated with the community and garnered friendly support from the audience.
