PODCAST PRODUCER / SOUND ENGINEER (Volunteer)

Details:

Join our team launching a new podcast exploring atheist history! Put your podcast production skills to use and help our show stand out in the ever-expanding landscape of new atheist content.  Get experience in the podcast industry and contribute to a meaningful project platforming the atheist community. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on episode outlines, recording schedule, and audio requirements. 

  • Ensure high-quality audio capture during recording sessions.

  • Assist with episode editing, sound optimization, and episode exporting.

Time Commitment:

  • Up to four hours per week when producing episodes, with flexibility around in-person recording sessions (August 28th and 29th).

Desired Skills:

  • Podcast or music recording experience .

  • Audio and video editing experience.

  • Familiarity with podcast editing and live-streaming software a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About Atheist Archives Podcast:

  • Atheists United Studios is launching a new scripted podcast in 2025 called Atheist Archives. The podcast explores the experiences of atheists historically and today. Each episode, we’ll take on two questions, and try to answer them from the perspective of a modern atheist community organizer (Evan Clark, Atheists United), a scholar of atheist rhetorical history (Dr. Kristina Lee, University of South Dakota), and see what we can learn along the way. In our first season, we plan to produce eight scripted episodes before exploring an ongoing live show that could exist on Atheists United’s YouTube channel. 

Podcast Studio Marketing Manager (Volunteer)

Details:

Join our passionate team and help us amplify the voices and stories of atheists! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on marketing experience in the podcast industry and contribute to a meaningful project platforming the atheist community. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote "Atheist Archives" and Atheists United Studios.

  • Create engaging promotional content for various platforms, including social media, email newsletters, and website.

  • Manage social media accounts for the studio, scheduling posts, and interacting with the audience.

  • Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with relevant organizations, influencers, or podcasts.

  • Analyze marketing campaign performance and provide regular reports.

Time Commitment:

  • Up to four hours per week, with flexibility based on marketing campaigns and episode releases.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in digital marketing, social media management, or content creation.

  • Familiarity with podcast promotion strategies is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

SCIENCE SUNDAY COORDINATOR (Volunteer)

Details: Join our team and help bring the wonders of science to our community through the Atheists United Science Sunday program! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in event coordination and contribute to a meaningful project that promotes scientific exploration and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage four Science Sunday events annually at various science museums and educational venues across Greater Los Angeles.

  • Coordinate with scientists, educators, and partner non-profit organizations for event programming and logistics.

  • Manage event promotion, registration, and attendance tracking.

  • Handle day-of event logistics, ensuring a smooth and successful experience for attendees.

Time Commitment: 

  • Approximately 5-10 hours per month, with increased commitment leading up to and during the four annual events. 

  • Flexible scheduling with some weekend availability required for events.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in event planning or coordination is preferred.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Passion for science and community engagement.

  • Familiarity with the Greater Los Angeles science museum landscape is a plus.

  • Atheists United's Science Sunday program is a community initiative dedicated to exploring and celebrating the impact of science. We organize trips to museums, labs, and natural wonders around Los Angeles, fostering a love of science and bringing our community together.
