Impact report
This past month, we’ve been building atheist community and supporting vulnerable people in tangible ways. Here’s just a snapshot of what you made possible:
ADVOCACY
Helped an atheist asylum seeker secure an attorney and critical letters of support on short notice
Distributed 480,000 pounds of food in 2025 (valued at $78,000)
Served 4,000 pounds of groceries to 159 families (549 people) at our monthly volunteer distribution
Lobbied in Washington, D.C. to defend the Johnson Amendment during Lobby Day
Co-planned an upcoming Reimagining America June 30th conference with national partners
Answered questions from Newbury Park High School students about what atheists believe
Tracked 10,000 illegal religious signs through Atheist Street Pirates, removed 6,000, and recruited four new volunteers
Began beta testing a new app to track and remove illegal religious signage
Hosted a talk: “Democracy is My Religion” with the Executive Director of American Humanist Association
COMMUNITY
Took 20 members camping—exploring, connecting, and even protesting together during the No Kings Rally
Organized a whale-watching Science Sunday with 33 members
Planned our upcoming Time Travel Party (May 2) + a service project with American Empathy Project
Began building a Discord server for deeper member connection
Continued weekly Secular Youth Group meetings, supporting teens through creativity, discussion, and community
GROWTH
We’re growing faster than our current space can handle.
Right now, all our supplies—from food distribution equipment to event materials—are packed into a rented cargo container and a small storage closet.
To keep expanding (and launch a second food distribution), we need a dedicated storage shed.
A generous donor has offered to match up to $500 toward this goal.
We need to raise the full $942 by April 17 to unlock that match in time for our next food distribution.
This is just a small part of the overall fundraising goal we need to hit this quarter in order to keep our programs sustainable in 2027.
Every dollar helps us build something real: community, support, and a place where no one gets left behind.
